Woods Canyon Lake is a small lake located in northern Arizona, about 30 mi east of  Payson. It is one in a series of small, canyon-bound lakes located on the Mogollon Rim.

Growing up in Arizona fishing the rim lakes has always been such a big part of my life. i have so many good memories.

Last weekend Quin and i decided at the spur-of-the-moment to take off and do a little fishing, just to get out-of-town. get out of the heat. in phoenix it was over a 100, up on the rim it was in the 70’s. the drive is around 3 hours had to stop get some things and get some lunch in Payson.

This was a most awesome day the weather was great and at one point got rained on sounds lame but when you live in a place that never rains rain is welcome. when it started coming down good all the surrounding people seemed to leave and left us the lake. another plus.

We saw some Elk on the way in. One visit to the same lake we actually had a bear come out of the wood swim to our side then walk off. that was way cool.
